Precisely controlled heating and cooling are critical to the production of aluminum alloy parts for the aerospace industry. The Despatch standard 4 x 8 x 4 Solution Heat Treat Furnace, for example, meets the exacting specifications of aerospace manufacturers with design features that assure rapid part heat-up and superior temperature uniformity.
The system includes an elevated drop-bottom furnace with a pneumatic hoist and an above-ground, powered quench tank. It is designed to fit into a variety of equipment footprints, and allows manufacturers to heat treat maximum loads of up to 4,500 pounds.The Despatch system also provides:
- Circulation air delivered to the supply plenum at high static pressure, with adjustable louvers to permit balancing of air flow throughout the furnace
- Work chamber temperature uniformity of ±5°F
- Polyalkylene quench in place of water to provide slow heat release and reduced thermal gradients and warpage
